Georg Dinstl: Are we really that hungry?

Wir müssen uns selbst verzehren bis nichts mehr übrig bleibt außer Appetit … ist synonym für die verschiedenen Ebenen, die im Werk ihren Platz finden, Wirtschaft, Geldgier, Politik und ihre Kurzlebigkeit. Im Schädel des Verhungerten steckt ein Olivenzweig als Symbol des Friedens. > Arche Noah. Die Friedenstaube kehrte mit einem Olivenzweig zur Arche zurück. Das Skelett als Symbol des Toten, ein übersättigter Typ als Symbol des verschwenderischen Lebens, der Ellenbogentechnik, Gier und der Ausbeutung. Die Bergkette, als Sehnsucht zur Natur, steigt parallel zum Pfeil des Wirtschaftswachstums. Die erloschenen Kerzen als Zeichen der Vergänglichkeit. etc…(Diplomarbeit und Folge-Arbeit auf der EXPO 2015 in Mailand)

Georg Dinstl, geboren 1978 in Wien, lebt in Graz.
„Nach mehr als 10 Jahren in der Grazer Kreativszene(), ist es an der Zeit, meine eigene Kreativität zu leben und nicht mehr für Kunden Ihre Visionen zu gestalten!“ (Permanent – Unit, Das Voyeur, COD Board Member, etc.)
Nach abgeschlossenem Diplom der Meisterklasse für Malerei an der Ortweinschule Graz bei Erwin Talker, und nach der Einladung zur EXPO 2015 (20x7Meter Bild am Cibus e Italia), schlägt er nun den künstlerischen Weg ein, will er doch der Suche nach der „Aufgabe der Kunst“ auf den Grund gehen. Was ist sie und was tut sie? Protest? Darstellung? Vision? Spiegel?
VERLAGERN…
…nennt sich die neue Serie, die mich persönlich wie auch sozial- u. gesellschaftskritisch betrifft und antreibt.
Verlagern von Interessen, von Macht und Geld sind Themen, die der Künstler aufgreift um sich selbst auszudrücken … „mixed media for mixed talent“ nennt er seine Arbeitsweise. Er will sich auf diesem Weg kein Medium vorenthalten, sollte es das richtige „Tool“ sein um, das Gewollte, darzustellen. Malerei, Siebdruck, kleinere Installationen, etc. No Rules!

Auf den Punkt gebracht: „Kunst kann, was Politik kaum noch darf. Dinge einfach ausdrücken.“

We must consume ourselves until there is nothing left but appetite… is synonymous for various levels that find their place in work, economy, greed, politics and its ephemerality. In the skull of the starved people there is an olive branch as a symbol of peace. > Noah’s Ark. The peace dove returned to the ark with an olive branch. The skeleton as a symbol of the dead, a saturated guy as a symbol of a lavish life, pushiness, greed and exploitation. The mountain chain, as a longing for nature, rises parallel to the arrow of economic expansion. The defunct candles as signs of transience etc … (Master thesis and subsequent work at EXPO 2015 in Milan)

Georg Dinstl, born in Vienna in 1978, lives in Graz.
“After more than 10 years in the Creativ Szene of Graz (), it ‘s time to live my own creativity and not to design visions for customers!” (Permanent-Unit, Das Voyeur, COD Board Member, etc.) After completing his diploma in painting at the Ortweinschule Graz under Erwin Talker and after invitation to the EXPO 2015 (20×7 metre picture, Cibus e Italia), he is now choosing the artistic path, exploring the search for the ‘task of art’. What is it and what is it about to produce? Exposition? Vision? Mirror?
SHIFTING …
… is the new series called, which affects and drives me personally as well as social and sociocritical.
Shifting interests, power and money are themes the artist takes to express himself … “mixed media for mixed talent” he calls his method. He does not want to deny any medium along this way, if the right “tool” is able to express the desired intention. Painting, silkscreen- printing, smaller installations, etc. No Rules!

To put it straight: “Art can do what politics can hardly do. Just express things.”
