DESCRIPTION: \nPhilipp Strohmeier: Clara und Olympia \nDie Acrylmalereien „Olympia“ und „Clara“ beziehen sich auf E.T.A. Hoffmanns Nachtstück „Der Sandmann“. Sie sind hier repräsentativ für zwei Seiten eines selbstzerstörerischen Systems. „Clara“ ist das goldene Versprechen des Kapitals – der amerikanische Traum\, der die Erfüllung zuvor eingetrichterter materieller Wünsche in Aussicht stellt\, wenn nur die Regeln des Systems befolgt werden. Olympia ist Symbol für die Blendung und den Verlust des eigenen Welt- und Ichbewusstseins in einem künstlich erschaffenen Ego. Clara und Olympia sind ErhalterInnen und SklavInnen ihres eigenen vergoldeten Käfigs. \nPhilipp Strohmeier\, 1986 in Oberpullendorf geboren\, ist Illustrator und Maler aus Graz. Der Germanistikstudent sucht Inspiration in der Literatur und interpretiert Wörter mit Farben und Linien neu.  \n\n\n\n\n\nPhilipp Strohmeier: Clara und Olympia \nThe acrylic paintings “Olympia” and “Clara” refer to E.T.A. Hoffmann’s night piece “The Sandman”. Both are representative for two sides of a self-destructive system. ‘Clara’ is the golden promise of the capital – the American dream\, which promises the fulfillment of formerly materialized wishes\, if only the rules of the system are followed. ‘Olympia’ is a symbol of the glare and the loss of one’s own consciousness of the world and the ego in an artificially created ego. Clara and Olympia are keepers and slaves of their own gilded cage. \nPhilipp Strohmeier\, born in Oberpullendorf in 1986\, is an illustrator and painter from Graz.
