DESCRIPTION: \nJudith Goetz: Angriffe auf Kunst und Kultur \nRechtsextremer Ideologie entsprechend zielen aktuelle politische Bestrebungen der extremen Rechten in Hinblick auf Kunst und Kultur zumeist auf eine Re-Traditionalisierung sowie eine Re-Nationalisierung ab\, um die Erhaltung und Förderung der “Volks- und Brauchtumskultur” sicherzustellen. Dies spiegelt sich beispielsweise in der Forderung nach mehr finanzieller Unterstützung für österreichische Künstler_innen\, Heimat- und Traditionsvereine oder Respekt für “unsere” Kultur wider. Zugangsweisen wie diese verdeutlichen dabei vor allem die dahinter stehenden nationalistischen\, völkischen und naturalisierenden Konzepte\, die rechtsextremer Ideologie zu Grunde liegen. Hinzu kommen außerdem Leistungseffizienzgedanken und Hetze gegen Andersdenkende\, politische Gegner_innen sowie Menschen\, die nicht zur österreichischen Mehrheitsgesellschaft gezählt werden. In jedem Fall bedeutet ein derartiges Verständnis von Kunst und Kultur eine drastische Verengung des Kunst- und Kulturbegriffs\, deren Ziel nicht nur die Ausmerzung des kritischen Potentials ist. Gesellschaftlichen Ausverhandlungsprozessen wird durch den Rückgriff auf vermeintliche Natürlichkeiten zudem auch jede Dynamik genommen. \nJudith Götz ist Literatur- und Politikwissenschaftlerin und Mitglied der Forschungsgruppe Ideologien und Politiken der Ungleichheit (www.fipu.at) sowie des Forschungsnetzwerks Frauen und Rechtsextremismus. \n\nJudith Goetz: Assault on Art and Culture \nAccording to the right-wing ideology\, contemporary political aspirations of the extreme right with regard to art and culture are mostly aimed at a re-traditionizing as well as a re-nationalization in order to ensure the preservation and promotion of “folk and customs culture”. This is reflected\, for example\, in the demand for more financial support for Austrian artists\, home and tradition associations or respect for “our” culture. Access methods such as these illustrate\, above all\, the nationalist\, ethnic and naturalizing concepts behind them based on the right-wing ideology. In addition there are also efficiency-orientated thoughts and agitation against dissenters\, political opponents as well as people who are not counted as Austrian majority. In any case such an understanding of art and culture means a drastic narrowing of the concept of art and culture\, whose goal is not only the eradication of the critical potential.
